Hannah has been looking at the world in wide-eyed wonder as long as she can remember. Ever since she first held a crayon, she’s been making marks to capture that wonder on paper. She grew up living aboard a sailboat along the California coast. Her earliest memories are of watching sea life dancing in the green underwater currents beneath the pilings and docks. That's where she developed a mermaid's heart-an abiding devotion for all things wild and untamed.
As Hannah explored parks, forests and botanical gardens, she fell in love with sunlit flowers and the sounds of bird song on the breeze. Her desire to develop her painting and photography skills led to a B.A. in Fine Art from the University of Puget Sound in 1983, and several years of additional training in art and design. Hannah now lives on the Florida Gulf Coast and walks the beaches looking for small wonders.
Hannah works primarily in acrylics and watercolors. She combines painting, collage and photography in her mixed media pieces.
Hannah’s love for the natural world continues to inspire her painting and photography. Her images invite you to focus on beauty of the present moment. By capturing glimpses of the unseen and overlooked, she encourages you to discover your own quiet moments of joy .
